New single and video for ‘You Would Hardly Know I’m Here’

‘You Would Hardly Know I’m Here’ is the third single from the album ‘Painting Devils’, which was released in September 2024. The Irish Times said of it: ‘Every one of the album’s 11 songs contains the kind of stories that songwriters would give their fingers for…every track groans with intelligence and humour…his insightful, witty and much-admired lyrics are a constant…McCormack polishes everything with a delivery that brings to mind the mischievous narrative songs of Bob Dylan and John Cooper Clarke’s chewing gum rhythms’.

The video for ‘You Would Hardly Know I’m Here’ was filmed in the remote village of Nyksund on the island of Vesterålen in Arctic Norway. Once a thriving fishing village it was abandoned to the sea and became a ghost town by the 1970s. Today the colourful ‘city in the sea’ is populated by a small bunch of artists and a large and noisy colony of kittiwakes.

The single will be available on Friday 15th of November from Bandcamp
